Back it Up

Well, I had been looking for a backpack for quite some time after getting tired of carrying all this school stuff single-shouldered. Unfortunately, I hadn't been successful in finding one that didn't look too...backpackyish :s

Whilst doing my weekly browse on Vogue.com I came across:
"Back-Packing
Backpacks and bumbags are back and ready for urban adventures"

"Hurayyy!!...this means there are sure to be some decent and stylish backpacks arriving in the high street", I thought.

So, here are my backpack finds...Enjoy!

This Louis Vuitton BP is so cool and different to anything else I've come across. (not exactly high street...but definately worth including in this post;) )

Surprisingly elegant...
(vogue.com)

These types would go perfectly with an oversized blazer, peg leg trousers and a classic pair of brogues.

Small leather rucksack £40 Topshop, Ethnic zebra ponyskin (PONYSKIN?!) rucksack £149.99 River Island

Piquadro Backpack £260
This is rather retro! Wow - I love the neon blue detailing. The perfect BP for school/college! (oo pair up with some square-framed spectacles for the ultra-nerdy look - which I am currently in lovvee with :D) Topshop for these non-pres. glasses £15 ;)

I <3 backpacks!!

Maxi It!

The maxi is the it thing right now and I love them! It's so much fun accessorising them. Go with lots of colourful, assorted bangles and/ a simple/statement neckpiece.

(monsoon.com)

Maxis are soo comfy to wear when on holiday too. There are endless styles you can go with - vintage, chic, boho, nautical, rock...

Personally, I'm not too keen on the ditsy or small floral print ones - but I guess if you wear it well, anything can look good! For example, if you are going to go for the ditsy floral print maxi, I suggest going it simple - ignore what I said about the bangles :D. Go with a simple vintage clock necklace, a denim jacket or gilet (another post idea!) and perhaps a pair of wooden wedges.

Raw edge gilet &35 Topshop, Vintage clock necklace &20 Topshop, Wooden wedge sandals by Roberto Cavalli £522

For an alternative look, go for either a fairly simple/plain or block print maxi and then max out on accessories!

Oversized sunglasses £12.99 River Island, Colour block bandeau maxi £24.99 River Island, Interweaved anchor chain bracelet £5.99 River Island, Pearl chain bangles £9.99 River Island, Chain detail sandal £21.99, Orange leather grab bag £55 Debenhams

On the elegant side...

Fashion for Me

I love fashion. For me, fashion isn’t just the garments or accessories you wear.
I guess the manner in which you carry yourself, the way you speak, how you look at the world and the people in it, all contribute to how fashionable you are.

Simply wear it with style, wear it with confidence and everyone’ll love it! Even if they don’t what does it matter – I think you should love what you wear and enjoy wearing it. Afterall, everynone has their own style!

Well,

Currently, I am also into the whole Aztec theme – the bright bold clolours, modernised bedazzlement (hehe – love that word!) and simple, bold shapes. Accessorize is my fave for such items – bangles/cuffs, bags and sandals especially.

Aztec Beaded Bando £8 Monsoon, Deepi Aztec cuff sandals £35 Monsoon, Mexicana embellished cuff £12 Monsoon, Abstract Aztec Medium Slouchy Cross Body Bag £35 Monsoon, Aztec Print Hareem Trousers £35 Topshop.

Oh dear...I just Googled 'chichi fashion' and realised there are so many sites with this url.
...And there I was thinking I’m being original. :s

So, I’ve just changed the url to chichi-and-kosher after it being chichi-fashion.
I think it has a nice ring to it :)

Naming my Blog

I had put quite some thought into my blog’s title. I wanted something that meant “fashion & food’ and sounded...well..nice. So I headed to the thesaurus!! (after realising im not as verbally imaginative as i thought I was :s )
This is the list of choices for ‘delicious’:
(Chichi and...)

Piquant
Sapid
Divine
Kosher

Another maybe was ‘Recherché’ but saying ‘ shishi and re-shair-shey’ more than 3 times tires your mouth with all the sh’s. :D

Hi all...

this is my first post on my first blog. I am hoping to make this both fashion and food-related. So here it goes!...

Well I got to make my own blog after being encouraged to do so and also realising I was spending hours of my day putting together outfits from site to site! So I thought, why not make a blog and share my findings with others.

I’ve made this blog based on fashion and food. I don’t really know how to cook but I like finding simple recipes from magazines or online and then trying them out. Oh, and I love watching cooking programmes. Currently, I’m watching the ‘Delicious Miss Dahl’ every week. I like the extra stuff they put into each episode like going to vintage shops, reading quotes from someone wise/famous and the little anecdotes Sophie Dhal pops in every now and then. I was surprised however, to find out that the place where they film isn’t actually her house (the way that they’ve unintentionally portrayed to the viewer that it is, is quite crafty).

Nigella Lawson is my fave!! – she makes everything look so simple and her recipes be wonderful. I love her throw-it-all-in and blitz cooking style! - found especially in her desserts.
